The Rafael M. Salas Library opened at the Negros Museum on August 7, 2012 to commemorate the 84th birthday of the late Rafael M. Salas. The Bago native was the first head of the United Nations Population Fund 1969-1987 (UNFPA). Prior to accepting the UN post, he was Executive Secretary to then President Ferdinand Marcos.
